Today I have been working on projects for Christmas Eve (we're hosting)...We are doing a birthday party for Jesus...cupcakes, treat bags and other goodies. These are the placemats for the kiddos... Logan and I decorated the dining room with paper chains...which we made while Mason and Mya were napping...
Tonight I pieced together ornaments to use as placecards. I think I am going to write each person's name on the roofline of the stable. Fortunately our Christmas Eve is just immediate family so I only had to make 10 or so...I must confess that I got the craft kits from Oriental Trading (kind of cheating) but I still had to assemble the WHOLE thing...stick by stick and person by person...I have a couple of welts from the hot glue gun. Just as a sidenote I am a HUGE believer in craft kits. If I order several projects right before any given holiday we have them on hand and they actually get done. If I wait for my creative juices to begin flowing...they don't.
Love it Tara! The placement cards and table mats. I love hosting our Christmas Breakfast and giving a small gift; glass magnet (a picture of each family member with Connor/a memory). Next Christmas morning, I already bought a small presents for all 20 guest.....Christmas coffee mugs ($2.49) for everyone since everyone uses up all my coffee mugs. Everyone can just take one home and no dishes for me :) Got them all 60% off @ Michael’s yesterday. You and I just love hosting :)
This blog comes to you as a true outpouring of the heart. Raising children is the greatest, most rewarding (needless to say trying and exhausting) job I will ever know. That being said, I feel that genuine joy is experienced as we watch our children grow and nurture their inner spirits. I find myself wishing that you all could peek in a window to see and experience the precious moments that fill our home each day as Logan, Mason and Mya grow. I wish you could glimpse Logan's tender spirit and love for trucks, tractors, daddy and Jesus. A smile would fill your face as you laughed with Mason, he has the most amazing laugh, and saw his absolute determination to do anything and everything on his mind. And believe me your heart would warm as you held Mya and realized that she would sit in your arms all day if time would permit. She has a tender, gentle, love-filled spirit. Hopefully this blog gives you a little peek into the world we call home...
